The Lector's role during the Liturgy is to convey the word of God to the Assembly. Reading the Scriptural passages enhances the Spiritual experience for all of us. A group of dedicated people provides this ministry in our parish.
Lectors (or Readers) in our parish constitute one of several parish ministries employed to serve God and the congregation. Lectors proclaim the Scripture Reading in a clear and meaningful manner during weekday and weekend Masses. Whoever wishes to serve must love the Word of God, be a person of prayer, and capable of speaking to large groups of parishioners at Mass.
Scheduling of Masses for lectors is quite flexible with the newly implemented online scheduler called Ministry Pro. Lectors can now view their schedule, volunteer for a position or find a replacement online. There is no set requirement for how many times per month a lector must serve. Please contact our Lector Coordinator Hope Santoro at 914-318-2472
