I know this is a strange and anxious time for everyone. The unknown is always worrisome.
The Cardinal made the decision to stop the celebration of Masses until further notice in order to help stop the spread of the new Coronavirus. It is the prudent thing to do but our hearts are still heavy to be without the graces of the Mass. Please know that Fr. Christian, Fr. Wilson and I are saddened as well, together with the Cardinal, all bishops, priests and deacons. We all look forward to being able to resume the celebration of the sacraments. We pray for all those impacted by the new virus and we ask the Lord to protect us all.
Know that we priests here at St. Patrick’s are here for you and we are praying all the more now for everyone. As Pastor, I am obliged to offer Sunday Mass for our parishioners and I will do so in a private Mass tomorrow. We will be offering private Masses everyday until we are allowed to celebrate Masses for the public once again.
The church will be open during regular hours for private prayer. We cannot gather in groups because of the danger of spreading the virus.
Let’s all pray for each other and for the whole world.
Blessed Mother, Saint Joseph and Saint Patrick, pray for us.
